Chopped BLT Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 split top, Brioche hotdog buns 
  • 1 large tomato, diced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce
  • 8 slices of bacon, cooked
  • ¼ cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ¼ cup chopped green onions
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Toast the Brioche buns until they have a nice golden color. Set aside.
  • Wash and dry the lettuce. Chop it into bite-sized pieces.
  • Dice the tomato. Then chop the crispy bacon into smaller pieces.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise and lemon juice until smooth. Season with salt and black pepper, tasting as you go.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped bacon, diced tomato, shredded lettuce, and mayonnaise. Toss to mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  • Divide the chopped BLT mixture among the four Brioche buns and top with the chopped green onion.

Notes

Feel free to use turkey bacon or vegetarian bacon as a healthier alternative.
We love the Brioche buns for this recipe but feel free to use your favorite type of bread, like sourdough, multi-grain or regular hotdog buns.
Customize the dressing by adding some extra spices, like cayenne or hot sauce to add some heat.
Get creative with additional toppings like sliced avocado, chopped red onion, crumbled blue cheese, or even hard-boiled eggs for a twist on the classic BLT sandwich.
