Slice the Panettone bread into 6 even 1 inch slices.
Heat a large skillet over medium-low heat. Add some butter to the skillet, greasing the entire bottom.
Dip a slice of Panettone bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Allow any excess to drip off. Place into the skillet and allow a nice golden crust to form, about 1-2 minutes per side. Repeat this for each slice of bread. You may need to work quickly, as the bread will start to crumble if soaked for too long.
When the French toast is ready, sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top, if you would like. Serve and enjoy.
Notes
You want a nice thick slice of bread because it will start to crumble.
The bread is already on the sweet side, so be cautious when sprinkling it with sugar and syrup.
You can use any type of Panettone you would like, traditional fruit, chocolate chip or plain.
