Indulge in a delicious breakfast or brunch treat with this Panettone French Toast! Soft, pillowy Panettone bread is dipped into egg and spices and cooked to a golden brown perfection. Enjoy it plain or dust with with powered sugar or drizzle on some maple syrup. Any way you prepare it, it’s sure to be a hit.

You can use any type of Panettone you would like, traditional fruit, chocolate chip or plain.

Slice the Panettone bread into 6 even 1 inch slices. You want a nice thick slice of bread because it will start to crumble.

In a large shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then dip a slice of Panettone bread into the egg mixture, coating both sides. Allow any excess to drip off. Place into a hot, buttered skillet and allow a nice golden crust to form, about 1-2 minutes per side. Repeat this for each slice of bread.

When the French toast is ready, sprinkle some powdered sugar over the top, if you would like.

You can also drizzle on some maple syrup for a bit of extra sweetness.

Serve and enjoy!
