    Air Fryer Lemon Asparagus

    This Air Fryer Lemon Asparagus is a quick and versatile side dish. It goes well with fish, poultry, and red meat dishes, offering a nice, acidic balance to the oily fish or fatty meats. Requiring only six simple ingredients, this vegetable side dish is sure to become a dinner time staple.

    To prepare the asparagus, make sure to wash it and to trim it so that the rough ends are removed before beginning.

    Make sure your asparagus is nice and dry after washing it. Coat the asparagus in olive oil, covering all sides. Stir the garlic powder, sea salt and black pepper together. Then sprinkle over the asparagus evenly.

    Place the asparagus in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the asparagus and then layer the sliced lemon over the top.

    Air fry at 400°F for about 8-10 minutes, until the asparagus is cooked but still crispy.

    The asparagus is ready once the tips are slightly browned, but the asparagus still has a little crisp to it.

    Place in a serving bowl, and enjoy right way, while the asparagus is still warm.

    What are the storage instructions?

    Any leftover asparagus in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in the air fryer or the microwave until it is at your desired temperature. 

    Should I eat these warm or cold?

    The are best served warmed, right out of the air fryer. As a leftover, they can be eaten warm or cold, or they can be added to a salad.

    Notes:

    • To add a little kick of heat to your Air Fryer Lemon Asparagus, you can add ¼ teaspoon of paprika or cayenne pepper to the garlic powder mix. 
    • This dish is best eaten warm, right out of the air fryer, but you can also enjoy the leftover cold or chop them and add them to your salad.
    • Be sue to keep an eye on the asparagus after about 8 minutes. If the asparagus overcook, they can become soft and mealy, and if they stay in the air fryer too long they can also burn.

    Ingredients

    • 8 ounces of fresh asparagus, washed and trimmed
    • ½ lemon, sliced
    • 1 tablespoon olive oil
    • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
    • ½ teaspoon sea salt
    • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

    Instructions

    • Preheat your air fryer for 5 minutes at 400°F. 
    • Make sure your asparagus is nice and dry after washing it. Coat the asparagus in olive oil, covering all sides.
