    Nothing says summer like ice cream, and nothing is easier than our Ninja Creami Vanilla Cottage Cheese Ice Cream recipe. The addition of cottage cheese to our standard ice cream recipe adds not only a nice, tangy flavor to the ice cream, similar to frozen yogurt, but it also adds in a significant amount of protein. Enjoy this guilt-free homemade frozen treat, and don’t forget the toppings!

    The flavor of this ice cream has a nice mix of tanginess from the cottage cheese and sweetness from the maple syrup and sugar.

    Place the cottage cheese, milk, vanilla extract, maple syrup and granulated sugar into a blender. Blend until the mixture is smooth and the cottage cheese curds have broken down.

    Pour the ice cream base into the Ninja pint container and freeze on a flat surface for 24 hours.

    Process the ice cream in the Ninja Creami on the “ice cream” setting.If you want an even smoother ice cream, process it one more time on the same setting.

    Optional: Add in toppings of your choice like nuts, chocolate chunks or candy and process on the “mix-in” setting. Or you can use fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips or chocolate sauce as toppings.

    What are the storage instructions?

    Place any leftover Ninja Creami Vanilla Cottage Cheese Ice Cream back into the pint container and cover and freeze for up to 1 month. 

    Should I eat these warm or cold?

    This ice cream should be eaten frozen, but slightly thawed, for the best experience.

    Notes:

    • The flavor of this ice cream has a nice mix of tanginess from the cottage cheese and sweetness from the maple syrup and sugar. 
    • You can use fruit, nuts, or chocolate chips or chocolate sauce as toppings. 
    • This ice cream is a good source of protein from the cottage cheese
    • If you are processing more than 24 hours after freezing, you may need to let the pint container sit out for a few minutes so the ice cream turns out creamy and not slushy.
