    Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast

    You can have a fancy restaurant-style brunch at home any day of the week with this Smoked Salmon Avocado Toast recipe!  Using quality, easy to find ingredients, this delicious avocado toast can be customized any way you’d like. The Pickled Red Onions and capers add a really nice hint of acidity to the richness of the salmon and the avocado. This recipe is also a huge crowdpleaser with family members and guests, and no one has to know how easy it is to make!

    Getting the freshest ingredients you can will really make this toast shine. Feel free to add additional toppings or sub out toppings with ones that you prefer. We recommend sliced tomatoes, sliced cucumbers, or a poached egg. But the possibilities are endless!

    Brush the tops of the sourdough bread with olive oil and toast on a grill pan or in a toaster oven until the bread is crisp.

    Cut the avocados, remove the pit, and place the flesh into a mixing bowl. Add the lime juice and season with salt and pepper. Lightly mash the avocados while still leaving some chunks.

    Divide the avocado mash evenly between the two slices of toast and spread. Then place the smoked salmon over the top of the avocado. Top with the pickled red onions over the salmon. Add capers over the top. Finally sprinkle with fresh dill, some salt and pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

    You will need the following ingredients: 
    Sliced sourdough bread, olive oil, avocados, lime, smoke salmon, capers, pickled red onions, fresh dill, salt and pepper

    What are the storage instructions?

    Place any leftover toast into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 1 day. We recommend eating as soon as possible because the avocado will start to turn brown.

    This Smoke Salmon Avocado Toast is best enjoyed fresh right after preparation.

    Notes:

    • You should make the Pickled Red Onions at least two hours or up to a week before making this recipe

    Ingredients

    • 2 slices of sourdough bread (or bread of choice)

    • ⅛ cup pickled red onions
